And that does it for another FOOD BANK FRIDAY!  As of 6pm on Dec. 13th we raised $109,245 for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Our virtual event raises important funds for accessible, healthy & sustainable food for individuals and families.

The GVFB supports more that 15,000 people monthly across Vancouver, Burnaby, New West and the North Shore; 28% are children and 14% are seniors.   GVFB is registering approximately 500+ NEW clients each month.  In 2024, the GVFB registered 7,000 NEW clients.   In addition to the clients, they serve directly, the GVFB provides food to more than 150+ Community Agencies to run their own food and meal programs.   These are community organizations like shelters, Community Centres, senior’s programs and after school programs.

The GVFB focusses heavily on distributing fresh food.  Over 65% of what their clients receive is fresh, including dairy, protein and produce.  Last year, the GVFB distributed 9 million pounds of food.  Volunteers donated 50,000 hours to the GVFB last year, the equivalent of 25 full time staff.  Follow the GVFB on social media to see your daily impact @vanfoodbank
