At my theatre school reunion Saturday night, someone told me why they’re glad they’re not friends with me anymore…

OLD CLASSMATE: Tara Jean, how are you?! I hear you on the radio all the time!

TARA JEAN: Oh, you listen? Thanks so much!

OLD CLASSMATE: But I gotta tell ya why I’m glad we’re not friends anymore.

TARA JEAN: Okay…

OLD CLASSMATE: I’m glad we’re not friends anymore because I wouldn’t want you talking about ME on your show, like, I couldn’t trust you, you know?

*I have to be honest. This comment embarrassed me. I take my friend and family’s private lives very seriously. I constantly gauge their willingness to be a part of my show by verbally asking them for permission to share their stories. But oversharing IS definitely a threat when you talk so much about your personal life on-air. It’s a fine line we walk and I’m thankful for the friends who have a good sense of humour about it. 🙂
