Mashup [mash-uhp]

  1. a recording that combines vocal and instrumental tracks from two or more recordings.
  2. a creative combination or mixing of content from different sources.

Mashups can be very polarizing. Some think they’re the greatest while others think they’re a sign of the coming Apocalypse. Kind of like the 45th POTUS.

While polarizing, there is no denying that a well-crafted mashup can take your breath away… especially when it combines two songs that you would never, ever think would sound good together.

For the first song in our #MashupMonday series, we’ve chosen one of those “holy smokes” songs. Thanks to Australian Wax Audio, the Bee-Gees meet Pink Floyd in one of the more genre-bending mashups we’ve ever heard.

Check out the combination of “Stayin’ Alive” and “Another Brick in the Wall Pt. II” and let us know on what you think on Facebook or Twitter!
