The Foo Fighters were announced as the second headliners for Glastonbury 2017, and made the announcement with a live stream from a secret gig in the UK!

The band hasn’t performed in over a year, making this surprise gig in Frome, Somerset even more special.

They made the announcement confirming their spot as headliners for Glastonbury 2017 (which is already sold out) via a live streamed performance, that people watched from all over the world via social media and the band’s website.

The Foo Fighters were supposed to perform at the festival in 2015, however, this came to a halt when Dave Grohl broke his leg during a concert.

Festival organizers said, “We’re incredibly lucky to have the Foo Fighters headlining on the Saturday night this year…It was obviously devastating when they had to pull out in 2015 – and the thought, effort and generosity they’ve put into this announcement is just unbelievable.” – Emily Eavis

This is when the internet is a beautiful thing! People took to social media to say how awesome it was to be able to watch the Foo Fighters from their beds, riding the train, listen through a workday and to generally share the stoke! Talk about making a concert accessible to the people!

Although you cannot continue to watch the footage, now that the concert has ended, you can expect many more surprises from the band (and hope for more live streamed concerts in the future)!
