It all began when Marc, a father of 3 in the UK, made a plea on the internet. He needed help to replace this cup for his son Ben who has autism and cannot drink from anything other than this one, particular cup.

Sounds extreme, however, it is often very difficult for people will autism to manage change. In this case, Ben’s autism restricts him from being able to drink from anything but this cup, nor will he physically drink anything at all if it is outside of his house. You can imagine the difficulty Ben’s father endured when the cup started to breakdown and then found out the company discontinued them!

So.. he turned to the internet for help:

Ben Cup Internet Post

Here’s where the story takes a wonderful turn! The internet rallied to help find this cup! ** This single tweet was retweeted over 19,000 times.

Eventually, Tommee Tippee, the original maker of this blue sippy cup, found out about the hunt and decided to help out.

Ben’s family didn’t care if the cups were gently used, as long as they could provide their son with adequate hydration. At one point, they had successfully found 20 cups for Ben!!

Then, Tommee Tippee decided 20 cups wouldn’t suffice and resurrected the very cup that Ben required and produced a whopping 500 more!!

Ben’s father, Marc, was elated to hear the news saying “It’s a shock, and a surprise, and just a bit bizarre really that they’ve managed to do this…I can’t stop smiling!”

Isn’t it nice when the internet works as a force of positivity!!
