Nickelback has just taken its place in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame with an official plaque ceremony in Calgary, Alberta.

The band was technically inducted into the hall of fame during the Juno Awards in Edmonton earlier this year.

Yesterday band members Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake, and Daniel Adair made it official, placing their plaque at the National Music Centre’s Studio Bell. The plaque placing was followed by fan Q&A.

An exhibit celebrating the rock group’s achievements also recently opened at the National Music Centre. They say that Nickelback is one of the top-selling acts of all time, with more than 12 consecutive sold-out world tours.

“They’re one of the most popular touring bands in the world, certainly the most popular from Canada at this point. They’ve written tons of great rock anthems that the world and Canadians love” – Andrew Mosker, president & CEO of the National Music Centre
