I think we’ve had our first taste of winter on the Wet Coast.

We’ve consulted the Old Farmer’s Almanac for some guidance, and this is what’s being predicted across Canada this year:

For Southern British Columbia: Good news for all you ski bums out there! Winter will be colder than normal, with above-normal precipitation and snowfall. The coldest months will be December and January, however, the chilly weather won’t stick around much longer than that!

Moving East along The Prairies: expect more than average amounts of snow in the western regions of the Prairies, with decreasing snowfall as you move east. The winter will be colder than usual, with the coldest periods lasting from the middle of December until February.

Travelling to Ontario over the holidays? Extra snowfall is expected this year with the snowiest periods beginning in the middle of December. You will need a warm jacket from mid-January through February.

Once we reach Quebec, this winter will actually be milder than normal! You can still anticipate lots and lots of snow, actually more than usual, and it will begin by mid-November.

Lastly, the Atlantic Region of Canada will get hit with the cold chill of winter yet again, and snowfall will be at or above normal for the entire time. Eastern Canada seems to be getting the worst of it, so stay warm!
