There couldn’t be two better people to put together a documentary about the like of the late and great John Candy than Colin Hanks and Ryan Reynolds, and that is exactly what they’re doing!

John Candy died in 1994 from a heart attack while filming Wagons East in Durango, Mexico. No word yet if this will cover the time he co-owned the Toronto Argonauts with Wayne Gretzky.

John Candy got his big break when he joined the cast of SCTV, when it was picked up in 1981, the show won an Emmy and his career really took off. He got into movie in the early 80s with Stripes, National Lampoon’s Vacation, and Splash. He got his first lead role in 1985’s Summer Rental, a Carl Reiner movie before starring in Armed and Dangerous with Eugene Levy and Meg Ryan.
