It’s almost Canada Day… and you know JACK will be bringing a heavy dose of Canadian music…  it’d be weird if we played a bunch of Australian music or something.

We’ll always tell you, the BEST way to celebrate Canada Day across the Lower Mainland is with your feet in a kiddie pool, a cold drink in your hand and listening to JACK play hat we want on your radio or smart speaker…

But if you do insist on going out, you can take us everywhere with you and from Vancouver to Chilliwack, there is so much to do! Here are a few highlights.

Canada Day in Vancouver

Time: 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Location: The outdoor spaces at Canada Place, Jack Poole Plaza, Harbour Green Park, and surrounding city streets. Please note there will be no indoor programming inside Canada Place.

Canada Day at Canada Place is the the largest Canada Day celebration outside of Ottawa now celebrating it’s 36th year. This year’s event is called “Canada Together” and was planned in collaboration with representatives from the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. “Canada Together” was built with the thought of creating a welcoming experience for all people who live in this country.

The theme this year is “Weaving together the fabric of a nation,” chosen to honour Canada’s diversity and set an intention for the day to gather, celebrate, learn, and share. Weaving is a common activity across many cultures and is a metaphor for the way the beauty, strength, and wisdom from the past can combine through multiple perspectives to create something meaningful for today and tomorrow.

The fun begins at 11am featuring great music, cultural performances, a Kids’ Zone, food trucks, exhibits and more!

Event highlights

  • Performances: Incredible performances from acts including headliner Johnny Reid, The Boom Booms, Omega Mighty, Bitterly Divine, Tsatsu Stalqayu (Coastal Wolf Pack), Spakwus Slolem (Eagle Song Dancers) with the West Vancouver Youth Orchestra, and Carsen Gray.
  • Special message from Chief Dr. Robert Joseph on behalf of Reconciliation Canada.
  • World Zone (North Point of Canada Place): A gathering of performances, exhibits, and demonstrations from different cultures around the world. Featuring performances from Aché Brasil and Lazy Syrup Orchestra with Ashleigh Ball.
  • Kids’ Zone (Jack Poole Plaza): Family friendly kids’ entertainers and activities, including the Rock N’ Beau Dance Party, the annual mascot dance-off, and performances from Mom Bop, Will’s Jams, and more.
  • Canadian Forces Zone (Harbour Green Park): Incredible displays and interactive exhibits that recognize Canada’s Army, Navy, and Air Force.
  • Food trucks: Experience the multi-cultural tastes of Canada with a variety of food trucks along Canada Place Way
