On October 6th, the Foo Fighters were headlining Cal Jam, a music festival in San Bernardino, California … and fans were left smelling their own teen spirit. Check out the video below!

Dave Grohl promised the crowd they were going to go “way back” – at the time, no one realized how far back he was talking about. During the encore, surviving members of Nirvana emerged; Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear appeared together for a six-song set of Nirvana favourites. In place of the late Kurt Cobain, the trio recruited Deer Tick singer John McCauley and punk legend Joan Jett to front the reunion.

(The last time Nirvana played a show, we were wearing Dr. Martens and crowd surfing. Now we visit Doctor Martin for our annual check up, and our weekends are spent couch surfing.)

(JACK FACT: Both singers participated in Nirvana’s reunion gig following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.)

The crowd was left buzzing, wondering what might come next and if this mini reunion meant anything going forward. More fuel was added to that fire last week when Nirvana’s surviving members appeared on the cover of Kerrang! Magazine.
