It’s been a busy week were at JACK FM, as the 2015 Trucksicle tour continues in partnership with Sprott Shaw College and the International Summer Night Market.

Two-time former Olympian and current Richmond City Counsellor Alexa Loo has announced her intention to break the world record for most hugs in an hour on June 26th. Her goal is to hug 3000 people in one hour in order to raise $100,000 for BC Children’s Hospital! Galleon Windjammer was on hand with the Trucksicle at the International Summer Night Market when she made the announcement, and we got the party started with a practice hugathon!

UPS’s 2nd Annual Plane Pull for the Lower Mainland United Way saw 19 teams compete to raise money for families in need! Over a thousand people showed up to take part in a fantastic carnival of food and fun. The Trucksicle was there, keeping everyone cool with a bottomless supply of freezies and swag.

The Richmond Nature Park has been holding Slugfest for over three decades. This year they were sponsored by Loblaw’s City Market as they celebrated all things slimy and sluggish! With tons of fun activities for kids and grownups alike, this was a fantastic time. Galleon Windjammer was ever brave enough to eat a slug! (Not a real one, of course)

Stay tuned to find out where the Trucksicle is going to be next week!
