It’s the 30th anniversary of the release of Run-D.M.C. and Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way.” A collaboration that reworked the band’s single from 1975 and was said to have helped launch rap into mainstream music. Not to mention, it also brought Aerosmith back into the forefront.

 

 

And this wouldn’t be the first time that Steven Tyler crossed genres! Now, the solo artist is living out his longtime dream of producing a country album!

The artist explained during his interview on the Today Show, that country music has always been a part of him:

“The Band that made me famous, Aerosmith, we would do all kinds of stuff, like “Cryin,” and that’s country. We wrote it with Taylor Rhodes down in Nashville. So it was already there; it wasn’t a stretch…. (a perfect country song) is three chords and the truth…and that’s what I love!”

Steven Tyler, rock icon, goes country this weekend in Vancouver. He’ll be live at The Orpheum for his Out on a Limb Tour, July 10th. “We’re All Somebody from Somewhere”, Tyler’s new album comes out July 15th.
