Shelley Duvall, the actress best-known for her roles in The Shining and Popeye, has died at the age of 75.

Her partner of 30 years, Dan Gilroy, broke the news of her passing saying she died earlier today at her home in Texas of complications from diabetes. He said, “My dear, sweet, wonderful life partner and friend left us. Too much suffering lately, now she’s free. Fly away, beautiful Shelley.”

Duvall made her acting debut in 1970 in the movie Brewster McCloud but had a huge breakthrough in 1980 starring as Wendy Torrance alongside Jack Nicholson in The Shining and as Olive Oyl in Popeye alongside Robin Williams. (The Hollywood Reporter)
