Ariana Grande’s new song “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” has claimed the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song, credited to Grande, Ilya, and Max Martin as writers, has propelled Max Martin to surpass John Lennon for the second-most No. 1 hits as a songwriter in U.S. history, with 27 chart-toppers.

Previously tied with Lennon at 26 No. 1s, Martin’s collaboration with Grande earlier in the year, “Yes, And?,” contributed to his climb.

Paul McCartney still holds the record with 32 No. 1 hits.

Additionally, “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” marks Martin’s 25th No. 1 as a producer, extending his lead over other producers, including the late Beatles producer George Martin, who has 23 chart-toppers.
