Kenny's Picks: 6 Songs I Want to Hear on JACK!

Just in time for the Listener HiJACK Weekend – a weekend of radio decided by the people dedicated to the people – I thought I would share with you a list of six songs that somehow JACK forgot about! Here are my picks that I’d like to hear more often on JACK, and may just make it into rotation on our Listener HiJACK Weekend!

Here are my Big Six!

“Return of the Mack” by Mark Morrison – A truly great R&B song that will bring a smile to your face!

“A Message to You Rudy” by The Specials – We get the odd request call for this song and we even play it from time to time. However, my suggestion to play it every four hours was met with “Out of my office!” by Corbet, the music boss.

“Flagpole Sitta” by Harvey Danger – I don’t know why but this song still sounds like it’s brand new music to me! I have heard it thousands of times but it still has not been played out to me! It always brings me right back to high school!

“Jungle Love” by Morris Day & The Time – What can I say? I love Prince and Purple Rain. Of course, you can’t forget Jay and Silent Bob… ahhh Hollywood!

“I Just Called To Say I Love You” by Stevie Wonder – This is on the list because just last week I was on a major Stevie Wonder kick. My first Stevie pick would’ve been “Living For the City”, but when the song ended and “I just called to say I love you” started, my wife’s eyes opened wide and she started to sing. So to be honest, this is a song pick for my wife.

“Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love Baby” by Barry White – The guy’s voice is a golden gift from God above and I think it needs to be celebrated more.
