The Department of Canadian Heritage has announced that the Canada Day lineup just got a little more rock n’ roll! It’s confirmed that Bono and The Edge of U2 will perform one song during the celebrations on Parliament Hill this July 1st.

They will perform during the early show (as the bandmates will have to leave immediately after for a show in Ohio), followed by an all-Canadian musical lineup that includes Alessia Cara, Walk off the Earth, Serena Ryder and Gordon Lightfoot. Other entertainment for the day-long celebration will include Cirque du Soleil, a 21-gun salute, air show, and a citizenship ceremony for new Canadians.
