*UPDATE: A FEDERAL JUDGE HAS STOPPED THE RELEASE OF “DELIVERANCE” (4/20).

On Friday, April 21st, an independent record label will release a posthumous Prince EP titled “Deliverance”.

It’s made up of 6 studio recordings made between 2006 & 2008:

But Prince’s Estate says the release is a violation of a 2004 confidentiality agreement that stated all recordings would belong to Prince.

The sound Engineer who worked with Prince on the project says, “Prince once told me that he would go to bed every night thinking of ways to bypass major labels and get his music directly to the public…When considering how to release this important work, we decided to go independent because that’s what Prince would have wanted.”

For now, “Deliverance” will only be available on iTunes and Apple Music.

The release date also marks the 1-year anniversary of Prince’s Death.
