Coldplay’s Chris Martin makes a stunning performance of “A Different Corner” at the 2017 BRIT Awards to pay tribute to the late George Michael.

Tributes were paid to the late artist by George Michael’s Wham! partner Andrew Ridgeley and back up singers Pepsi & Shirlie (Helen DeMacque and Shirlie Holliman), who started by saying, “On Christmas Day 2016, the greatest singer-songwriter… an icon of his era, and my beloved friend, George Michael, was lost”.

 

After the ‘In Memoriam’ portion, Coldplay’s Chris Martin took the stage. He began his tribute by singing Michael’s 1986 song “A Different Corner”.

weaving his vocals in with Michael’s, creating a beautiful duet.

This is not the first time Chris Martin has paid tribute to the late star, he also performed “Last Christmas” following the singer’s death.
