If you’ve ever wished that Rosie the Robot from ‘The Jetsons’ was more than a cartoon, the wait may soon be over!

The Consumer Electronics Show is underway in Vegas, where tech companies display their current projects. This year, there’s a couple of robotic personal assistants making their debuts…but can they compare to Rosie?

Meet Olly: this robot is said to be more personable than your stereotypical robot, matching the user’s personality and using motion to convey emotion. The robot can play music and control other internet-connected device. Olly can even give advice!

Here’s how Olly works:

 

Meet Kuri: ‘The smart bot can understand context and surroundings, recognize specific people, and respond to questions with facial expressions, head movements, and unique sounds.’ It can play music, read a bedtime story, monitor you smart home features, and take/send videos of your pets while you’re out of the house!

Both Olly and Kuri are breaking ground in the ‘robots with personality’ categories, especially given that they live outside the realm of developments from tech giants like Amazon or Google.
