The City of Vancouver is offering free salt to residents in an effort to battle the dangerous ice on sidewalks and side streets. The salt is available today only from ten different fire halls between 9am and 8pm.

Most locations ran out within the first hour, however, the city will be restocking some time this afternoon. When re-stocked, there will be a limit of one bucket full per person, whereas before it was two per person.
