Popular songs sometimes get their rep on the second time around.

Sure Queen’s, Bohemian Rhapsody hit #9 when it originally charted.  But after the release of Wayne’s World in 1992 it hit the charts again making it all the way to #1.

Another example is Elton John.  His hit song Candle in the Wind peaked at #11 in 1973.  But after the death of Princess Diana, Elton re-wrote the lyrics for the Princess and the song hit #1 for 14 weeks.

Finally Whitney Huston’s, I Will Always Love You. Which was originally written and recorded by Dolly Parton, so technically this one is on the 3rd time around.  “I Will Always Love You” hit #1 for 14 weeks in 1992.  But after Whitney died in 2012, it hit the charts again after 20 years and peaked at # 3.
