Elvis was only 22 years of age in August 1957, and he came to Vancouver by train to perform at the Empire Stadium, after two other stops in Toronto and Ottawa.

There were nearly 26,000 people in the audience that night, they paid ticket prices of $1.50, $2.50 or the premium $3.50. August 31st, 1957, Elvis would have earned just over $21K for the one performance in Vancouver. The show had to be stopped twice due to safety concerns, as fans bypassed security to get as close as possible to the King.
